Become a Board Member or Intern Today!

“Stories In My Backyard” is looking to fill board seats and internship positions with creative social entrepreneurs who are dedicated to cultivating and amplifying the voices of the black community through art, education, and social change. These board members should believe in the power of representation, access, and equity for the black community, especially black youth. As this work exists in the nonprofit sector, these individuals should find fulfillment in service beyond monetary value and be able to serve in multiple positions to see through to the early success of this organization. At this stage, these are volunteer based positions but the benefits are abundant. Opportunities include youth arts education, co-creating arts workshop curriculums, event planning, talent booking, multimedia content creation, art curation for community exhibits/immersive experiences, budgeting, branding and social media management. If in any personal creative works can be implemented into our nonprofit initiatives, collaborations and exposure is possible. If needed, internship credit can also be provided.
